Overview
The Couple's KAP Replay is an on-demand continuing education series featuring recordings from Enamory Institute's live Couples' Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Therapist Training event held in July 2026. Through didactic instruction, clinical case examples, experiential exercises, and demonstrations, participants are provided with a structured and evidence-based approach to assessment, preparation, dosing, and integration phases of KAP with couples.
Grounded in evidence-based principles and strategies from the established couple therapy literature (Jackson et al., 2026) and informed by current research and best practices in psychedelic-assisted care, this training explores how ketamine can be thoughtfully integrated into couple therapy. Across the series, participants will learn to uncover recurring relational patterns, identify and provide feedback on relevant ketamine treatment targets, prepare couples for ketamine experiences, differentiate approaches to dyadic dosing, and facilitate targeted integration strategies to support couple therapy goals and ongoing relational change.
This training is designed to be applicable across theoretical orientations, emphasizing evidence-based couple therapy principles and structured clinical decision-making that participants can incorporate within their existing approach to working with couples. Whether taken individually or as part of the complete Couples’ KAP replay series, each module (Relational Assessment, Feedback & Preparation, Dyadic Dosing, and Dyadic Integration) provides focused instruction and practical strategies that clinicians can immediately apply in their work with couples.
Module 2: Relational Assessment
Module 2, Relational Assessment, introduces assessment methods for facilitating conjoint and individual sessions in order to clarify presenting concerns and goals while also uncovering important aspects of couple interactional patterns. Therapists will learn how to map an interactional pattern between partners using thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and behaviors to understand underlying mechanisms influencing current relational distress. We then explore how the relational pattern can be used to identify relevant therapeutic targets that ketamine may support.
Module 3: Feedback and Prep
Module 3, Feedback and Preparation, prepares therapists to provide feedback to clients on the couple’s relational pattern, invite client input, refine the case formulation, and discuss relevant therapeutic targets for KAP. Therapists learn how to deliver psychoeducation on ketamine relevant to couples, elicit relational intentions for the dosing session, and collaboratively establish set and setting, including developing agreements around consent for touch/communication during KAP, introducing coping strategies, and reviewing environmental considerations for dosing sessions depending on context (telehealth or in-person).
Module 4: Dyadic Dosing
Module 4, Dyadic Dosing, provides a framework to help therapists match dosing models to the couple’s pattern, goals, preferences, and prescriber recommendations. In this module, we differentiate Solo, Dual psychedelic, Dual psycholytic, and Ketamine-Augmented Couple Therapy models; addresses logistics (in-clinic vs. at-home; therapist-guided vs. self-guided); and explore how dosing may shift over time as therapy progresses.
Module 5: Dyadic Integration
Module 5, Dyadic Integration & Continuing the Arc of Couple Therapy, introduces clinicians to principle-guided approaches for fostering relational integration after ketamine dosing. Participants will explore core integration tasks relevant to couples, including helping partners process the medicine experience together, softening into vulnerable emotions, and shifting entrenched relational patterns. The module emphasizes working flexibly with emotions, cognitions, and behaviors while also supporting couples in developing ongoing integration practices. Special attention is given to extending integration into the broader arc of couple treatment, ensuring that insights gained during KAP sessions are meaningfully woven into long-term relational growth and therapeutic progress.
Target Audience
This training is suitable for clinicians and other mental health professionals with foundational knowledge of both ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and couples therapy.
